The 12 Best Snorkelling Trips in Jamaica

12 tours  ·  from $65

The reef sits close in on the west end and off the Montego Bay marine park, so most of these are short boat rides rather than expeditions. These 12 are compared on gear, depth, how many stops each makes and what the boat does while you are in.

“They do not know how to communicate. They said we had to reach out to them to confirm pickup time but they already had a bus scheduled for our hotel. They did not reach out to is before arriving to the hotel but rudely texted us when they were outside and told us they were leaving us. They indeed left us and did not provide any information on how we could have gotten there so we missed the cruise. Awaiting refund.”

2.Reggae Catamaran and Snorkeling Open Bar Cruise Montego Bay

★★★★★★★★★★4.0 · 453 reviews · from $125

Spend about three hours on Jamaica’s north coast aboard a reggae party catamaran. You’ll be picked up from your Montego Bay hotel, snorkel near Doctor’s Cave Beach, then enjoy a DJ, open bar, fruit, pastries, and Jamaican-style appetizers. The mood is lively, not quiet.

“The boat was over crowded and we had to stand unless we were snorkeling. They told us to remove our shoes/sandals before getting on the boat. The boat floor was extremely hot especially not having a seat. We did not finish the ride. We got off at margaritaville. The staff were great. The pick up on point. We won't book a party boat with Viator maybe another excursion.”

3.Catamaran Cruise with Snorkeling and Dunn’s River Falls

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 358 reviews · from $139

Sail by catamaran to Dunn’s River Falls, snorkel over a Caribbean reef, climb the 600-foot cascade, swim in its pools, and return with lunch, music, rum punch, and Jamaican hospitality. Pickup is available from Ocho Rios and Montego Bay. Bring water shoes and eat breakfast first.

“Tour guide picked us up on time. Keep in mind the tour time is not the pick up time (pick up time is much earlier if you are starting from Montego Bay). Felicia (bus tour guide and coordinator) was great! Catamaran ride was great and a lot of fun coming back. Dunns river is a bit of a tourist trap, so be ready for that. Overall a good time…wouldn’t recommend doing solo though.”

“At the beginning, it was okay. However, if they know rain is in the forecast, they should cancel. We didn't get to go to Rick's Cafe, and there was a lot of confusion at the end. A lady was hit in the back of the head about a seat on the bus. It was ridiculous. I wish they would have provided an opportunity to do this tour again.”
